FAQs

  • Can you surf on Dewey Beach?

    Yes. You can test your surfing skills at Dewey Beach. It is a little less crowded than Rehoboth Beach, but is not for the weak. The waves are extremely strong and can pull you to the ocean floor if you are not careful. If you are traveling with your pet, they are permitted on the beach in unguarded areas only from September through April. Pets are not allowed May through August.
  • Where can I park at Dewey Beach?

    Dewey beach offers plenty of metered street parking close to the sand.  From May 15th to September 15th, between 10 – 2 am, you are required to display a parking permit or make sure you have money in the meter. Parking is free Monday through Wednesday, from 5 – 9 pm and during events such as Movies on the Beach and bonfires. If you plan in spending the summer or are planning several getaways throughout the season, you can purchase a parking pass at Dewey Beach Town Hall for $200.
